All one could ever want, packed into a a single day. Watching all the snow fall from afar over the last few weeks has lead to a significant fear of missing fall. It’s hard to imagine that one week ago, this entire landscape was under over a foot of snow. But as it comes, it goes. And as it goes, there’s still something glorious left over. Thankful to call this magical wonderland: home
ANNOUNCEMENT - This coming December I’ll be teaching a workshop with my good pal @nateinthewild here in Washington as we go on the search for Bald Eagles as they migrate with their food source! It’s accessible here in state, affordable in cost, and just a weekend of your time! Come have a blast photographing these majestic beasts on their hunt! Link in bio for more information!
New friends old friends, I’ve been to this place far too many times to count and I can’t remember a time that was a disappointment. That’s the thing about being outside, it brings this sense of inspiration, friendship, something that feels so immeasurably profound. Back at it my friends!
The last two weeks have been the best kind of whirlwind imaginable. WE GOT MARRIED! It all still feels like a dream and I am so excited to call this woman my wife! How damn good did she look our wedding day!?!! From the friends and family who were there on our big day, to all of the support that has come remotely, we’re so damn thankful and blessed by the support and love around us. Stoked to post all of the photos as they come in, and to be back online after my phone went swimming on day 2 of our honeymoon. It was an amazing time away and it’s great to be back. Onwards to the little bits of remaining fall, the quickly arriving snow, and all of everything. Life is the best! All photographs by the incomparable @rayduker
Here we go! The season where everything changes. The time where we get to choose what type of light we want to store, what type of memories we’re going to hold and appreciate in the dark, what dreams will come to fruition as we savor each day. Happy autumn my friends!
I love this planet. I love the animals, the people, the plants. I believe in science. I believe that earth goes through natural periods of change and I believe that human impact is MASSIVELY accelerating a process of change. I believe what I can see with my eyes, glaciers disappearing and receding faster each time I have the fortune to visit them. I believe that each of us has the power to make change, however small, that can positively impact on a daily basis. I believe that change must happen at governmental levels, yet, blaming everything on others doesn’t change a damn thing. It’s gonna take a planet to change a planet. Love it. Protect it. Seek to understand: take action, everything counts ❤️🌎
This photography game is a grind. I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t a massive struggle far too frequently. I haven’t shot outdoors in probably a month, having forced myself into pitching endlessly to try and found my next rounds of work. It can be grueling, humiliating, and exhausting but at the end of the day, there’s nothing else I’d be happier chasing. Here’s to fighting the good fight! And, legit, if you know someone needing some photographs, hook a guy up one time!
Views found on the long way in. Ready to get back out as the seasons are changing HARD this week 😍😍
I’ll never forget this moment. Everyone else was tired and decided to stay in the car. In the quiet moments of early morning with the cold dew nipping at my ankles and the gurgling sounds of the stream in my ears, I got to experience something magical, all by myself. These are the moments I live for, yearn for, and constantly feel driven to discover.
I love it when days try to leave such a lasting impression during their goodbyes as if they know they’ll be back and want us to be excited about it.
Days just feel better when I have the fresh perspective of first light. There’s something so much easier to those days. I’m thankful to start any day with the perspective of renewal and appreciation for this planet. The stress of anything that comes after just doesn’t seem to carry the same weight. It’s been awhile, I’m ready to get back out.
