Painting sundaes requires all the focus. 😋🎨🍦 #cafemonet #sundayfunday #paintpottery #austin #Repost @kenziebrookshire with @get_repost ・・・ He is super hardcore focused on everything he does, just like his dad. Painting pottery is no joke. . The cutest place and the best indoor Saturday activity when it’s 1,000 degrees outside. . Texas, we get it, it’s summer. I’m not leaving the house again until October, thanks for understanding.

I have been teaching Art as therapy and art enrichment at several senior living facilities for nearly two years. I love my residents. Today has been hard. I learned that one of my very favorite residents passed away. One might say given the physical age of my students that it is to be expected. But, I didn’t expect it. You see, I don’t know any of their physical ages. I only know the age of their spirits. And, Rachel had a wonderfully young spirit. She would always stay after class and help me clean up. We would talk about all kinds of things but especially our mutual love for travel. She was so smart and wise and I loved our time together. One of her fellow residents told me that she “counted the days until my next art class” and it made her so happy. Knowing this makes my heart full but I will miss her always. I won’t forget you, Rachel. ❤️
