It’s Fair Trade Month! Arbor Teas team member, Jacob, traveled to Sri Lanka last January to visit the Fair Trade Certified Greenfield Estate, home of our Organic Ceylon Black Tea. While there he saw first hand how Fair Trade premiums were making an impact by helping to purchase extra school books for the farmers’ children and install running water in each home. This October we're sharing stories and pictures from the @FairTradeCertified tea gardens we source from. ⠀ Read more about Jacob’s Sri Lankan adventure using the link in our bio!⠀ .⠀ .⠀ #FairTradeMonth⠀ #FairTradeTea⠀ #FairTradeCertified⠀ #Biodynamic

Our newest organic green tea hails from the beautiful countryside of Thailand. This Organic Thailand Green Tea has gorgeous long twisted dry leaves and a golden infusion that reminds us of corn and acorn squash skin. Just in time for fall 🍂⠀ ⠀ @AraksaTeaGarden, where this tea is grown, was founded in 2014 and is a small artisanal organic farm located within the lush jungles of the Chiang Mai province in Northern Thailand. Araksa also supports the local community through its Himmapaan Foundation which helps to repair land damaged by tourism and provides access to education by sponsoring teachers in remote mountainous schools. ⠀ ⠀ #greentea #araksatea #HimmapaanFoundation
We can't stop adding our favorite new herbal tea to everything! We tweaked the @FoodNetwork recipe for easy No-Churn Vanilla Ice Cream by steeping our Organic Butterfly Pea Lemongrass in the cream overnight, infusing it with a light lemony taste and eye-catching blue color. A sensory delight! ⠀ What other foods would you like to see go blue? 💙
We added three new teas from the Araksa Tea Garden in northern Thailand this summer. This Organic Thailand Silver Needle White Tea being one of them! The gorgeous downy bud-only needles of this tea produce an aroma of clover honey and stewed apricots.⠀ ⠀ @AraksaTeaGarden, located in Chiang Mai province, revived a previously neglected tea farm. With impressive sustainability efforts, they repaired land damaged by tourism, encouraged long-term growth instead of slash-and-burn techniques, and planted sustainable cash crops. ⠀ ⠀ #silverneedle #whitetea #organicsilverneedle #thailand #araksatea
The @uofmichigan students are back in our hometown of Ann Arbor and everything’s coming up maize and blue! 🌽💙 Whip up some cornmeal waffles, and steep some of our Organic Butterfly Pea Lemongrass in cream to make blue whipped cream for an inspired tailgate brunch!⠀ ⠀ #goblue⠀ #butterflypeaflower
It’s HERE: Organic Butterfly Pea Lemongrass. Delightfully lapis lazuli colored, lightly lemony and herbaceous. This Thailand grown tea is our new favorite ingredient to put in everything! Stay tuned to see all the delicious things we’ve been adding this to 💙⠀ ⠀ ⠀ #butterflypea #bluetea #butterflypeatea #butterflytea #lemongrass #thailandtea
The Elio Glass Teapot has been a staple in our catalog for years, and for good reason. We love that you can watch your leaves unfurl, and the lid even doubles as a stand for the infuser!
The feeling when you avoid single use plastic cups because you have a super great travel cup instead 💁
Our Rwandan teas are truly special. This is our Organic Rwanda Silver Needle, and it’s an excellent example of a classic silver needle style white tea grown at an award winning Fair Trade Certified garden!
The more tea at a party, the better, in our humble opinion… Check out our post from earlier this week, we posted a recipe to make a big batch of tea for a crowd! 👯 Cheers to the long weekend, tea friends!
We found this Thai Tea Ice Cream recipe on @bonappetitmag, and we knew we had to give it a whirl with our Organic Thai Iced Tea - the results are pretty amazing. 🌟 Our tea doesn’t have added food coloring, so the color is a little less intense but the tea flavor still shines through the cream! It’s perfect with a ginger cookie (or two!) 😉
Labor Day party coming up? 🎉 Making a big batch of loose leaf tea for a party is not as hard as you think! Here’s our one pot recipe to make 1 gallon of tea: Ingredients: - 7 tbsp Organic Nilgiri Black Tea - Water - Ice - Sweetener to taste: sugar, honey or simple syrup Directions: - Fill a large pot with 8 cups of fresh water and bring to a boil. - After the water reaches full boil, turn off heat, and add 7 tablespoons of Organic Nilgiri Black Tea. - Steep for 3-5 minutes stirring occasionally. - While tea is steeping, fill 1 gallon beverage dispenser or beverage cooler with ice. - If desired, add sweetener (sugar, honey or simple syrup) directly to the pot of tea while the tea is still hot. Stir well. - Pour tea concentrate through a strainer or fine sieve directly over the ice in the beverage container. Press strained tea leaves to extract all the brew. - Serve with lemon slices and enjoy!
Summer is going to last forever, right? (Right.) We’ll be here sipping this fruity Organic Mango Black tea and soaking up the warm days for as long as we can ☀️
